Walking Day By Day With Our Lady. This is a beautiful book of meditations on Our Lady based on the Litany of the Blessed Virgin and on her Magnificat prayer. It also contains reflections for all the major feasts and solemnities of Mary, as well as poetry centred on the Mother of God. These meditations on Mary are filled with wisdom and hope. On ordinary days, on Marian holy days, and in times of spiritual and moral challenges, they offer the strength and the consolation that come from a relationship with the Mother of Jesus. Mother Mary Francis, P.C.C., a contemplative Poor Clare nun and an acclaimed spiritual writer, wrote with an intimate familiarity of the Mother of God. To her Mary was real, lovable, and accessible, and her words help the reader to discover that walking with Our Lady day by day is the cause of our unending joy. The book includes reflections for the feasts and solemnities of Mary throughout the year. It incorporates the most cherished Marian prayers of the Church, such as the Rosary, the Litany of Loreto, and the Magnificat. Celebrating with Our Lady Every Day of the Year. Every day of the year is a day for the Lord, but also for His Blessed Mother, Mary. Daily, Daily Sing to Mary lies in the tradition of the Marian Calendar, a collection of feasts honouring the Blessed Virgin Mary. Each day brings to mind the actions the Mother of God has undertaken on behalf of Christians of all nations and kingdoms throughout the ages. The story for each day of the year also brings a lesson for us. The original Marian Calendar was first published when King Louis XIV of France was still a boy, and it is in reality a collection of famous sites of pilgrimage to the Blessed Virgin throughout all of Christendom. This work is offered to the Christian world for the hundredth anniversary of the apparitions of Our Lady at Fatima. The accounts provide abundant proof that Mary, the Mother of God, has indeed claimed the hearts of Christians from the earliest centuries down to the present day. They are also evidence of the value of the Blessed Mother’s influence and mediation on the behalf of her children before the throne of God. In these pages, for each day of the year, we have endeavoured to list a particular miracle, apparition, conversion, or healing which took place on that day throuigh the maternal hands of Our Lady. On occasions we also recall events in which Our Lady saved people from all kinds of danger, at sea or on land. We have also documented simple events, like the finding of a Marian image which may not seem in themselves to be miraculous, but point to a deep care which the Mother of God has for her Son’s people. We have taken episodes from all parts of the world in a truly Catholic way, showing that Our Lady has influenced so many people’s lives and often in non-Catholic and even non-Christian lands.

Author: Paul Haffner
Format: Paperback
Number of Pages: 500
Published: May 2017
Dimensions: 151mm x 228mm x 40mm.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0269/4424/1742/products/daily-daily-sing-to-mary-by-paul-haffner-800x800-17606.jpg?v=1593032389
devotions-to-our-lady-of-perpetual-succour-by-cardinal-vincent-nichols
Devotions to Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, by Cardinal Vincent Nichols

Devotions to Our Lady of Perpetual Succour. What the Bible Tells Us about the Mother of the Messiah. Catholics and non-Catholics alike may be tempted to assume they already know everything there is to know about Mary. Whatever your degree of knowledge and personal devotion to the Mother of God, this book will help you see Mary with new eyes and greater appreciation. Scholars often have questioned how much the New Testament can tell us about the Mother of Jesus. After all, Mary appears only in a few accounts and speaks on limited occasions. Can Scripture really support the many Marian beliefs developed in the Church over time? In Rethinking Mary in the New Testament, Dr. Edward Sri shows that the Bible reveals more about Mary than is commonly appreciated. For when the Mother of Jesus does appear in Scripture, it's often in passages of great importance, steeped in the Jewish Scriptures, and packed with theological significance. This comprehensive work examines every key New Testament reference to Mary, addressing common questions along the way, such as: What was Mary's life like before the Annunciation? Is there biblical support for Mary's Immaculate Conception and Perpetual Virginity? Does Scripture reveal Mary as our spiritual mother? What does it mean for Mary to be "full of grace"? How is Mary the "New Eve," "Ark of the Covenant," and "Queen Mother"? Can Mary be identified with the "woman" in Revelation 12? Rethinking Mary in the New Testament offers a fresh, in-depth look at the Mother of Jesus in Scripture—one that helps us know Mary better and her role in God's plan.

Author: Edward Sri
Format: Paperback
Pages: 320
Published: Sept 2018
Dimensions: 133mm x 203mm.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0269/4424/1742/products/rethinking-mary-in-the-new-testament-byedward-sri-800x800-18009.jpg?v=1593034303
mary-in-the-bible-and-in-our-lives-by-fr-wilfrid-stinissen
Mary in the Bible and in Our Lives, by Fr. Not a history or a compendium, it was written by a Carmelite monk who spent decades praying and pondering the mysteries of the faith concerning the Mother of Jesus. Catholic Mariology has matured through centuries of meditation upon both the Bible and the Church's faith in the Incarnation. The Marian dogmas of the Church are guarantors of the full meaning of the statement in the Gospel of John that "the word became flesh and dwelt among us" (1:14). Fr. Wilfrid Stinissen shows that Mariology corrects any attempt to minimize the good news that God became man so that man could become like God. In writing about Mary, he underlines the astonishing truth that God has initiated an intimate communion with mankind. In a world that strives to reduce human dignity, Mary reveals the very high value of man in God's eyes and God's wondrous love and plan for each one of us.

Author:

Wilfrid Stinissen

Format:

Paperback

Page Count:

170

Date Published:

Jan 2018

Dimensions:

125 x 185mm

Publisher:

Ignatius Press

ISBN:

9781621641872

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0269/4424/1742/products/mary-in-the-bible-and-in-our-lives-by-fr-wilfrid-stinissen-800x800-18011.jpg?v=1593034312
mary-of-nazareth-by-michael-hesemann
Mary of Nazareth, by Michael Hesemann

Mary of Nazareth. Plants and flowers associated with the Blessed Virgin Mary originated with the early Church Fathers, who saw her prefigured in passages from the Old Testament containing nature imagery, such as: "I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valley." (Canticles 2:1) St Benedict (AD 480-550) was the first recorded saint to create a garden at his monastery, as a place for prayer and contemplation. His was a rose garden or 'rosary'. It was St Fiacre (an Irish Saint) in 670, however, who became the first to plant a garden in honour of Our Lady, using those flowers which bore her name. This idea quickly spread throughout Ireland and England, with many “Mary Gardens” being created to honour our Lady. These were places often close to a church, where people could go to spend quiet time in prayer with our Lady. They were often enclosed gardens with a simple statue of the Blessed Virgin, surrounded by the shrubs and flowers which had been named after her. In Britain, so many plants originally had Marian names and meanings, that it was actually possible to have themed “Mary Gardens” based around particular attributes of Our Lady and her life – a garden specifically devoted to her virtues, or her earthly life, or her joys and sorrows for example. Mary Gardens flourished right up to the time of the Reformation. The Marian names and symbolism of the flowers of pre-Reformation England were largely omitted from English herbals and gardening books produced in the 16th century. In a short space of time, 800 years of floral Marian connections and symbolism had disappeared from our gardens and countryside along with the monasteries and shrines. In 1932, St Joseph's Church, Woods Hole, Massachusetts, decided to redress the balance, becoming the first church in the United States to plant a Mary Garden. For their inspiration, they took the plants of old Catholic England. From this small beginning, the movement spread across the States and an association was set-up to specifically promote Mary Gardens. Today the Marian Garden is a bold statement of Catholic Faith in a secular world.

Author:

Felicity Surridge

Format:

Paperback

Page Count:

140

Date Published:

Apr 2019

Dimensions:

140mm x 216mm

Publisher:

Gracewing

ISBN:

9780852449158

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0269/4424/1742/products/a-garden-for-our-lady-by-felicity-surridge-800x800-19010.jpg?v=1593036432
our-lady-of-silence-by-fr-emiliano-antenucci-cts-books
Our Lady of Silence, by Fr Emiliano Antenucci CTS Books

Our Lady of Silence. Commissioned and gifted to the Holy Father by Capuchin Friar Fr Emiliano Antenucci, this icon is known as Our Lady of Silence, a Marian devotion which promotes the importance of silence. This devotion symbolises much of what is important to Pope Francis, such as not speaking ill of others, and the value of listening to God in the silence of our hearts. By embracing this devotion, we can embrace these values which are so dear to the Holy Father. This booklet offers an introduction to this devotion, as Fr Antenucci himself explains the history of this icon and its importance. A rich selection of devotions to Our Lady of Silence follows, helping us to recall the importance of thinking about what we’re saying, welcoming silence, and enabling us to pray this devotion along with the Holy Father.

Author: Fr Emiliano Antenucci
Format: Paperback
Number of Pages: 48
Published: May 2020
Dimensions: 105mm x 148mm.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0269/4424/1742/products/D833-Our-Lady-of-Silence-CTS-Catholic-Prayer-Books.jpg?v=1594551750
the-dowry-of-mary-by-dr-raymond-edwards-mgr-john-armitage
The Dowry of Mary, by Dr Raymond Edwards & Mgr John Armitage

The Dowry of Mary, By Dr Raymond Edwards & Mgr John Armitage. The presence of Mary, Mother of God, in the New Evangelisation is as clearly discernible today as throughout Christian history, not least in her recognised apparitions and in papal teaching. History is rich with heroes and heroines, saints and martyrs, and the hidden and unknown, who have spread the Christian Gospel in good times and bad. How is this relentless and fruitful energy sustained? The timeless role of Mary, Mother of God, in this great work of evangelisation is uncovered here. Most Catholics who know anything at all about Newman are familiar with his journey from Anglicanism to Rome. What may surprise them is the key role that devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary played in that conversion. Apart from the Papacy, devotion to Mary is perhaps the greatest stumbling block for the majority of Protestants. Yet, Newman had already developed a devotion to Mary and a defense of some Catholic doctrines on the subject even while he was still a Protestant. In Behold Your Mother: Marian Stations of the Cross, we walk alongside the Mother of the Redeemer as she accompanies him during his Passion and death. Written from the unique perspective of a child who is witnessing Mary's unspeakable anguish, this booklet helps us to grow in devotion to the Blessed Mother as she leads us closer to her Son. Just before he died on the Cross for the salvation of the world, Jesus entrusted Mary to Saint John and Saint John to Mary. In that moment, Mary also became our mother forever - a beautiful, loving gift from the Redeemer himself.
