Saint Boniface, the enlightener of Germany. St. Boniface, was born circa 675 in Wessex, England. modern day Devon. He was tutored and educated in a monastery before traveling to Europe, where he was a missionary converting the pagan peoples in present-day Germany and the Netherlands. Archbishop Boniface was killed by pagan tribespeople in Frisia on June 5, AD 754, at the approximate age of 80.
